- The VA Precision Oncology Program (POP) is an innovative approach to provide standardized state-of-the-art practices in precision cancer care and research for veterans and VA cancer care specialists. The two-year-old program, based out of Boston, has captured the attention of VA leaders and the White House.

- David J. Shulkin, M.D., VA Under Secretary for Health, visited VA Boston's Jamaica Plain campus to speak at the National Partnership Council meeting July 23, 2015. Dr. Shulkin toured the JP campus and got a chance to meet staff and Veterans.

- The Comprehensive Cancer Care Center Team, VA Connecticut Healthcare System, received a VISN ICARE award for undergoing accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
- VA Boston researcher runs Boston Marathon to help prevent suicide
- Jesse Gass, M.P.H., research coordinator for the VA New England Clinical Trials Network based out of the VA Boston Healthcare System, ran the 2015 Boston Marathon to raise money and awareness for Samaritans, a non-profit suicide prevention organization that is very close to her heart.
- VA New England researcher receives BU volunteer award for humanitarian health project
- Lou Fiore, M.D., M.P.H. earned Boston University’s 2015 Office of Academic Affairs’ Voluntary Faculty Award of Excellence for volunteer public health projects in Nicaragua.
- President's chief data scientist visits VA Boston research program
- The White House chief data scientist visited the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Research & Development’s Million Veteran Program (MVP) at the VA Boston Health System’s Jamaica Plain campus March 31, 2015, to discuss the President’s Precision Medicine Initiative using existing programs and resources like the Million Veteran program.

- The Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Research & Development’s Million Veteran Program (MVP) recently enrolled its 350,000th volunteer into a research program that seeks to register one million Veterans, to become the largest study of genes and health in the world.
